LEMO launches new 'tiny trio' series
There have recently been two key advancements in connector technology; A reduction in size and a corresponding increase in contact density. Sectors that include aviation, automotive and test technologies are constantly looking to increase the use of sensors and increase data transfer rates. This requires that connectors and cables must be capable of use in an environment where density is ever increasing. The latest advancements from LEMO, nicknamed, the ‘Tiny Trio’, have achieved just this. While maintaining the high capability of the contact ratings, the unique LEMO design with an integrated spring to prevent high vibration damaging the contacts and affecting conductivity, results in a vastly improved and compact solution.
These progressions have resulted in LEMO producing the 00 series, which has the capability to fit five 1.5A rated contacts into a 6mm diameter housing. This alone makes it a perfect model for communications equipment among other specialist situations requiring tougher, compact connectors. In addition, the 0B series offers 12 contacts with a 1.5A rating, all within a 9.5mm diameter housing.

LEMO 00 series connectors
Another range from LEMO is the waterproof T or 0T series. Founded on the familiar B Series, including the ‘push pull’ latching technology from LEMO along with an inner sleeve and extra sealing, provides an IP68 protection level when fully coupled.
The innovative T series employs the configurations and highly impressive contact arrangements used in the B series. This provides the opportunity to rapidly select a wide variety of options and offers backward compatibility with the B series where the same socket panel hole is present. Customers looking to upgrade current designs will be able to do so without replacing the whole assembly.

LEMO 0T series connectors
The third is a brand new range of M series connectors. Named the MM series, it is available with 2, 3 or 4 contacts. Being one of the smallest LEMO connectors with an IP68 rating, it is ideal for the automotive trade. The complete range of LEMO connectors can now boast being able to connect to cable diameters of 2 to 27 mm and having from 2 right up to 114 contact assemblies.
